Datum Jelatek is an integrated development with residential, retail and commercial components connected to the Jelatek LRT station in the mature suburb of Datuk Keramat. A landmark of urban rejuvenation and living, this development aims to renew and transform the neighbourhood into a mixed income community with better living, business and housing standards.
NATURE-INSPIRED DESIGN
The podium contains a retail mall and offices, with four residential towers comprising 712 apartment units above. The overhead Sky Ring on level 27 is the standout feature that connects the four towers. This ring structure with fire coated paint integrates various activity nodes—from entertainment and education to lifestyle and wellness—for the residents. The 500,000-square-foot mall underneath supports the shopping and daily essential needs of the residents and also nearby communities.

Inspired by nature, the towers are likened to stalks of flowers above water while the undulating tower façades mimic the ripples of a nearby lake. The curvilinear balconies with large overhangs, the design of which was also based on water as a dynamic element, can reduce at least 20 per cent of solar heat gain to the interior.
