The developer behind Hong Kong’s first private residential high-rise (Tonkin Street project), using modular integrated construction (MiC), Chinachem Group has formalised a strategic partnership with GMC Grand-Bay Intelligent Manufacturing and Technology (GBIMT) to further develop and apply MiC. This collaboration stands the city achieving its carbon neutrality target by 2050 in good stead.
Marked by a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier in August 2023, this alliance aims to facilitate technological innovation; materials procurement and supply; information exchange; technical consultation; as well as adoption of new property technology (proptech)—all of which to bring about a more efficient, less wasteful and less polluting construction industry with lower carbon emissions. —Construction+ Online
