The XXXIX, a condominium complex by Sansiri, is located in the Sukhumvit area in Bangkok, among mid-level residential developments. The client had a vision for a luxurious condominium that would stand out; is stylish yet functional; and is not constrained by, but takes advantage of, its city centre location. The complex includes 34 floors, with 178 residential units, lobby and reception, multilevel parking, a pool, sun terrace and a fitness centre with common facilities.
Design firm dwp created spacious and luxurious interiors for a contemporary urban living experience, ensuring a fluid connectivity between internal and external spaces. They used clean and classic symmetrical lines to accentuate the height of the building. Architectural finishes and forms were inspired by Milano styles. Matching colours of spandrel panels were used for triple height volumes, and metal screens in exterior and interior spaces were used for visual continuity, creating a sense of space for this compact land area. A neutral base palette was used to harmonise with the white exterior, and augmented with stone textures, luxury fabric choices and ambient lighting. Parking was designed above ground, concealed by decorative aluminium grills, inspired by Manhattan’s Art Deco buildings.
Tall glass entrance doors, set in high-quality natural stone façade, were used for a sophisticated entrance from street level. Lush green landscape and reflective water pools create a delightful sense of arrival for residents and visitors. A dramatically tall lobby lounge, styled and furnished in designer luxury and opulence, extends a warm welcome. Natural light has been maximised by floor-to-ceiling windows, yet screens and panelling allow for the required degree of privacy.
An environmentally friendly design facilitates natural lighting and ventilation throughout.
The facilities floor was designed as a large water feature, integrating a large swimming pool, sunken daybeds, hot and cold baths, Jacuzzi, rain shower and steam rooms. This is complemented by a fully equipped fitness centre, as well as a well-appointed and double-height library.
