Kuala Lumpur, 25 January 2021 – Looking at the impact brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly during the Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0, the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) decided to extend the period of support initiatives to reduce the burden of contractors who wish to register or renew their registration.

The following support initiatives will have an extended implementation period from 1 January 2021 to 31 March 2021:

  • Registration renewal of continuous contractor development (CCD); starting from 1 April 2021, CIDB will be reducing CCD point requirements by 50 per cent.
  • Renewal of certificate requirements for efficiency management (SKP) and facility management
  • New registration and registration renewal to the integrity course exemption

“This extension has been implemented following feedback from industry players, including Master Builders Association Malaysia (MBAM) and Malaysian Contractors Association (KMM), stating that this initiative is still needed by those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the MCO 2.0,” said CEO of CIDB, Datuk Ir Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid.
