Youth-focused Video Competition to Foster Interest in the Built Environment

The Reimagining a sustainable future: Our lives ∙ Our community ∙ Our Hong Kong video competition sought to foster the youth’s interest in the built environment, while giving students a chance to showcase their solutions on renewable energy; waste management; green building design; and community redevelopment through a one-minute video. It attracted the participation of 600 students from over 75 secondary schools this year.

Out of around 200 entries, those from ECF Saint Too Canaan College, Victoria Shanghai Academy, and St. Paul’s School (Lam Tin) emerged as champion, first runner-up and second runner-up respectively. For details, please refer to the competition website.

Preceded by a first edition in 2021, the contest was organised by Arup with support from local youth-oriented organisations such as the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong; La Violet Education; St. James’ Settlement; The Women’s Foundation; and The Zubin Foundation. —Construction+ Online
