Nearly 1,500 runners from around 100 organisations took part in the Construction Industry Happy Run 2023 at Tai Po Training Ground of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction on 8 January 2023. . Held by the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the running event comprised a 10-kilometre race and a 3.5-kilometre happy run, aiming to promote a healthy lifestyle among industry practitioners.
Apart from men and women categories, team races including Parent-and-Child Race and Construction Style Relay were also held to encourage more practitioners and their families to participate in the event.
In 2022, CIC established the CIC Youth Affairs Committee (CICYAC) to develop the future direction of the youth development policy. CICYAC organised the first Fun Run during the event and raised over $200,000 for the Construction Industry Greater Bay Area Youth Internship Programme. —Construction+ Online
