The Northern Metropolis covers Yuen Long and North District in Hong Kong. It is going to be the foothold for Hong Kong’s strategic development and a new engine for the city to scale new heights. The Government will establish two dedicated committees to take forward the development of the Northern Metropolis and to collaborate closely with the Guangdong Provincial Government, aiming to enable the Northern Metropolis to create synergy with the Guangdong Province, the Shenzhen Municipality and the Greater Bay Area.
Henderson Land Development Company Limited (Henderson Land) and China Resources Land Limited (CR Land) signed a strategic partnership agreement on 14 October 2022 to establish a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership towards projects in the Northern Metropolis and other districts in Hong Kong as well as the Mainland China.
Peter Lee Ka-kit, Chairman of Henderson Land, said that they will fully support and seize opportunities in the Northern Metropolis with CR Land. They aim to facilitate China’s overall development and help realise the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Li Xin, Chairman of the Board of CR Land, agreed that this partnership will boost collaboration in the Northern Metropolis and the Greater Bay Area, further enabling Hong Kong to integrate into the overall national development and leading the city into a new chapter. —Construction+ Online
