A 1980s ex-government complex in the densely populated Mongkok district in Hong Kong has been transformed into a modern office tower and retail-entertainment mall.
Designed by Aedas, T.O.P This is Our Place is a new retail-entertainment icon for the young and young-at-heart. With an underground connection to the Mongkok MTR Station, the building also features a podium façade, which reflects the signature palette of the station with its pixelated, colourful spectral aluminum panels that protrude out at varying angles, along with modern illuminated signboards continue the nearby streetscape.
The new, larger atrium provides gathering and performance spaces, with a DJ stage on the first floor, and extends to the podium rooftop deck where the Space-Out Garden is. A curved featured staircase runs from the main retail area to an F&B level.
