Genting Singapore and Las Vegas Sands will each be investing SGD4.5 billion as part of its expansion plans in Singapore, as reported by Reuters.
Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will add more than 164,000 square metres of new attractions, including Minion Park and Super Nintendo World themed parks, expand the SEA Aquarium to the three-times-larger Singapore Oceanarium, and redevelop the Waterfront Promenade and the Resorts World Theatre. This major expansion will take place in stages, with new experiences opening every year from 2020 to a projected completion around 2025.
A fourth luxury hotel tower at Las Vegas Sand’s Marina Bay Sands is also on the cards, with key additions including 1,000 rooms, a 15,000-seat entertainment arena and a sky roof.
These integrated resorts will also be granted additional gaming provisions aimed at higher spending visitors, according to a joint statement by four government ministries, including the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Finance. — Construction+ Online
