Soaring above the Sydney skyline, the upcoming Crown Residences will offer elegant accommodation features and services in the heart of Sydney Harbour.
Inspired by London architecture, furnished with Manhattan interiors and surrounded by Balinese landscape design, the 275-metre-high project is expected to be completed in early 2021.
Designed by British architecture firm Wilkinson Eyre, the development’s curved geometry emanates from a concept of three petal forms that twist and rise together. The twisting form maximises the views of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The complex geometry of the tower was derived using parametric 3D modelling, accommodating a 60-degree twist in the outer skin with helical columns on the perimeter, while maintaining a vertical core structure.
Internally, the residential villas and apartments are set out in the tower as a spiral, while the majority of the hotel rooms are stacked vertically in their own wing.
Each of the unique floor plans are designed by New York-based interior designer Meyer Davis Studio. Its interior style is tailored to complement the distinctive architecture of the building, with materials, finishes, colour palette and lighting inspired by the harbour and the surrounding environment.
With just 82 residences—comprising two, three, four and six bedroom homes—future residents will enjoy privacy and discretion in the heart of the city. Contemporary furnishings and luxurious finishings—from Scandinavian bleached birch wood, ripple textured bronze glass, polished blackened stainless steel, leather detailing, and white and silver-veined stone slabs from Europe—create opulent living spaces. — Construction+ Online
