Built around the concept of ‘sculpture park living’, Mount Pavilia at Clear Water Bay immerses residents in nature and art, extending living spaces into landscaped grounds and incorporating art appreciation into everyday life.

ART FOR ALL
The White Yard—comprising a clubhouse (White Yard Club) and a retail block (White Yard Gallery)—sits majestically at the entrance to the development. Designed by acclaimed South Korean architect Minsuk Cho, it is a minimalistic showpiece of white-beige concrete blocks and glass, with an undulating mesh-like design.
The clubhouse is a luxurious space defined by a long, clean white corridor, which ends in a dome-shaped half-sized basketball court. Flanking the corridor is a large private event space, which overlooks the 36-metre outdoor pool. A combination of straight, curved and moveable glass walls enables natural light to flood the space, creating a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors.
The outer façade of the White Yard Gallery features a long, delicate white brick screen, which playfully interacts with light and shade. The space serves as a platform for the local artistic community, complemented by exhibitions at the Chi K11 Art Space fine art gallery, a café and an artisanal food market.
Developer New World Development believes that art should be accessible to all, and this vision is exemplified through the commissioning of four iconic pieces in its Sculpture Park. These sculptural works are interpretations of the Home & Family theme by international artists Gao Weigang, Kum Chi Keung, Tatiana Trouvé and Jean-Michel Othoniel, and have been curated for direct interactions with residents.
EMBRACED BY NATURE
There is also a 17,000-square-foot children’s learning and adventure play area, with five specially crafted sections—the toddler area, central park, multi-intelligence indoor play area, water play zone and urban farm.
The climbing frames at the central park, by an Amsterdam-based studio, are designed around a semi-open cylinder, allowing children their own play space, while being in full view of their parents. The multi-intelligence play area includes a library, giant slides and huge doll houses, among others. The family urban farm allows children and parents to plant crops together and experience nature’s ecosystems through aquaponics and hydroponics. Across the grounds, there are a 400-metre hiking trail, a 100-metre art trail and a 950-metre cycling track.
Mount Pavilia has been listed as a Green building under the BEAM Plus certification for its sustainable development features. These include wind turbines and photovoltaic panels on the residential rooftops to provide renewable energy for the common areas; solar panels for the clubhouse’s changing room’s hot water systems; rain water collection and recycling; as well as conversion of food waste into fertiliser.
