The original buildings used to be military barracks dated back to 1904, a home for British soldiers in Singapore during the colonial era. Converted into a property with modern facilities, the site is now listed as a luxury boutique hotel capitalising on its British colonial charms.
SPATIAL DESIGN
The hotel refurbishment covers two out of the total six conserved heritage buildings. One other building was converted into an events centre, while the remaining three were repurposed for a tenanted F&B area, with renters coming from Asian restaurant and convenient store franchises. For the hotel, all guestrooms’ ceilings were heightened to give more spacious feel.
