The centralised campus of the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) in Punggol is set to reinforce its position as an industry-focused university of applied learning. The university aims to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas with industry professionals. Located within the Punggol Digital District (PDD), the campus will occupy a total land area of approximately 91,000 square metres over two plots of land. The West Zone, conceived as a ‘Campus-in-a-Park’, is characterised by a community park and surrounding academic buildings; while the East Zone adopts Green technologies with two Super Low Energy buildings and a series of courtyards.

STRATEGIC PLANNING
The design capitalises on the green site by integrating learning environments with biophilic indoor-outdoor tropical spaces. The academic blocks are organised as a chain of buildings encompassing a secondary rainforest that is conserved and transformed into an accessible community park, preserving a generous green breathing space to bring recreation and rejuvenation to learning and work.
The greenery extends into the understorey of the campus, featuring naturally ventilated and day-lit public thoroughfares shaded by the blocks above, as well as amphitheatres and garden terraces across various levels of the academic buildings.
