Structural works of first TRX office tower completed

Construction and property development group IJM Corporation Bhd has completed structural work on a new 27-storey office tower in just 10 months, as reported in The Star.

This is the first building to reach its top in the upcoming international financial district Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), the culmination of approximately one million man hours.

At its peak, subsidiary IJM Construction Sdn Bhd managed to achieve a short construction cycle of only four-days per floor with its 500 workers working almost round the clock.

“We are excited to see this project take shape and to have reached this stage of the construction timeline.

“Reaching the top of this structure is a critical milestone for the construction team,” said IJM Corporation CEO Datuk Soam Heng Choon. “We believe the building’s design will complement and enhance the TRX skyline.

IJM recently announced that it is undertaking three other construction projects in TRX, including the new headquarters for Prudential, HSBC and Affin Bank. — Construction+ Online
