Located in the vibrant Phrom Phong area of Bangkok, the Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit is cosiness wrapped in Thai elegance.
Its interior design is strongly connected with the local heritage as well as the Hyatt Place brand identity. The modern interior plays with natural materials and colour tones that relate to Thailand—such as the dark oak wood combined with gold details.
Gold accents can be found in the overall design of the hotel, along with a range of timeless colours and neutral textiles, establishing continuity across different spaces and creating volume, sophistication and serenity.
Inspired by Lanna Thai fabric, criss-cross weaving patterns are embodied in the details, while Thai art stucco plaques, usually found in temple ceilings, characterise the project. All materials are sourced locally, with tailor-made furniture and artwork from local artists.
The hotel consists of 32 floors with 222 guestrooms, lobby, lounge, restaurant, meeting rooms, business centre, gym, pool bar and a roof top bar. Working closely with the clients, the designers were able to outfit both guestrooms and public areas below the set budget.
Due to the narrow plot site, the building is long and narrow with much curvature in the layout. The prominent structural columns led to the division of small pockets of spaces to create an open interior that ‘breathes’.
All corridors have narrow walkways with many shaft doors that are cleverly hidden with large paintings representing Thai textile patterns, giving the space a local flavour. — Construction+ Online
