Daily Roast

The Daily Roast is a café designed based on the concept of simplicity, comfort and care. Design firm Whitespace matched this concept with the character of the brand. For instance, the style of the menus focuses on grab-n-go meals for office workers in the tower and suits the urban lifestyle of the people in the surrounding area.

The design detail consists of wooden truss, with warm lights added to create the look and feel of a bakehouse. Earth-toned colour was applied for materials such as wood to provide contrast with white and tan tiles, as well as create a warm and friendly atmosphere. All materials and resources were available locally, especially earthen tiles that give a home-made look and feel.

One constraint of this project was its small area (approximately 44 square metres). All functions or requirements must fit into a limited space in which the owner, chef and kitchen staff can still work efficiently, safely and comfortably, especially at the food preparation area. The kitchen layout needed to provide fewer steps to complete a task.

Nowadays, consumers pay more attention to the quality of their food as part of their healthy lifestyle. The interior design of the café creates a brand experience to reflect the customers’ lifestyle and the products available.
