Winner, Office Category | BCI Asia Interior Design Awards 2020
Pangdemonium Theatre is an office and rehearsal space for actors working at the theatre company. The facility comprises a large rehearsal studio; a props store and workshop; a costume store and workshop; a main office; and spacious common areas for staff and actors. The design concept was to create a space that makes staff members and actors feel like they are at home, so that they can strengthen their bonds off-stage.
BEHIND THE SCENES
The rehearsal studio is placed at the main entrance because of its central role at the company. Framing the studio are crate-like boxes housing costumes and props. The gallery of past productions is adjacent to the main office. In the common area, a series of seating and napping pods is provided for rest and casual talk. The pantry with a large island can also serve as a common room where interactions usually take place.
