New link road to improve connectivity in Punggol & Pasir Ris
Residents residing in Punggol and Pasir Ris will enjoy a more direct travel between the two towns, as a new link road is expected to be fully opened on 17 November 2019.As part of the expansion of the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway and the Tampines Expressway (KPE/TPE) Interchange, the new link road will provide an alternative route from Pungol to the two expressways.
“The new link road will provide motorists with an additional route between the two towns and help to rude the current traffic flow along the interchange,” the Land Transport Authority (LTA) stated in a news release on 31 October 2019.
In order to facilitate the expansion, the existing KPE (TPE) slip road to TPE (SLE) will be decommissioned from 5am on 9 November 2019. The expansion is expected to be fully completed by June 2021. – Construction + Online
