Winner, Retail Category | BCI Interior Design Awards 2020
The Regional Mall Clark Mimosa is located in a former foreign military base in north Manila, which was given back to the local government. The site is being developed into a new airport and a leisure centre, and the mall will be a significant retail attraction within the overall master plan.
THE MIMOSA TREES
The surrounding nature becomes the inspiration of the design. The golf courses and the mimosa trees will form a backdrop for the mall. A viewing plaza will be built to celebrate the trees. The planning has been thorough to ensure that the trees will not be harmed during the construction.
There will also be a dining area with tree canopies and retail pavilions linked by a treetop bridge. Since the mall is F&B focused, restaurants will become a central attraction, with most providing outdoor seating. Covered walkways will also be built to connect the shops.
