Hidemasa

To create a high-end Japanese restaurant in Sentosa Village Hotel heritage compound, the immediate question was how to introduce a new narrative into the colonial ambience. The designer decided to contrast the two environments altogether and offer a zen space amidst the busy tourist site.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING
The space is divided into two. The bigger one is called HIDE, designed to sit 35 to 40 people. With two rows of circulation and relatively distant placement of the tables, the layout initially aimed to provide personal space to customers, but now it functions more as a means for physical distancing. The sliding door can also separate the space into two areas.
