Singapore, 25 August 2020 – In November 2020, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) will offer about 5,700 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in Bishan, Sembawang, Tampines, Tengah and Toa Payoh. Of these, the flats in Tengah will have a shorter waiting time. Following this, in February 2021, HDB will offer about 3,500 BTO flats in Bukit Batok, Kallang Whampoa, Tengah and Toa Payoh.

A wide selection of flats, ranging from two- to five-room flats, is offered to meet the diverse housing needs of first- and second-timer families, the elderly, as well as singles. Applicants who wish to take up a HDB housing loan for their flat purchase will need to produce a valid HDB Loan Eligibility (HLE) letter when they book a flat, except for young couples who are eligible for deferment of income assessment.

All applicants are encouraged to apply for an HLE letter early, so that they are able to book a flat within their budget. The HLE letter will indicate the loan amount based on the applicants’ individual financial situation. Applicants are encouraged to apply for a BTO flat in the non-mature towns to enjoy a higher chance of success in securing a flat.

Previously, HDB has launched 7,862 flats for sale under the BTO exercise in August 2020. The flats on offer are located in non-mature towns of Choa Chu Kang, Tengah and Woodlands, as well as mature towns of Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Geylang, Pasir Ris and Tampines.

New HDB flats are priced with a generous subsidy, taking into account factors such as location, flat attributes and prevailing market conditions. Eligible first-timer families can enjoy the Enhanced CPF Housing Grant (EHG) of up to SG$80,000.
