Winner, Residential Individual Category | BCI Asia Interior Design Awards 2020
To accommodate both living and work spaces for an architect and an artist, Gallery House at 5 Cardiff Groove was designed with a human-centric approach. The house also embodies design attributes aligned with the national sustainability agendas—such as incorporating passive cooling and water management, as well as buildability and wellness.
HUMAN-CENTRIC DESIGN
The horizontal cross-ventilation maximises the façade openings and optimises thermal comfort. A central atrium with an openable thermo-chromic glass skylight allows for optimal daylight penetration and enhances the stack-effect ventilation. This area also serves as a focal communal point of the house as all floors circumnavigate around it.
