Kuala Lumpur, 27 April 2021 – Training of Trainer Workshop and Access Audit in the Built Environment is the workshop to raise the awareness and understanding among technical officers who are assigned to check building plans and enforcement; and to provide a clearer picture of the design of facilities for person with disabilities (PwDs) to construction professionals.

The rapid and progressive construction development in the Southeast Asian region, especially Malaysia, needs to take into consideration the PwDs challenges, so architecture must be planned and formed based on the principle of universal design. The workshop is held by Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), with details as follows:

  • Date: 27 – 28 May 2021
  • Time: 8.00 am – 5.30 pm
  • Venue: Dewan Melati, Perbadanan Putrajaya, Precinct 3, Putrajaya
  • Registration: 22 April 2021 – 21 May 2021

Participants will be provided with information about the problems and challenges faced by the PwDs; knowledge about accessibility plan drawings; and designs that can be applied in new and retrofit projects. They will also be introduced to the implementation of the barrier-free concept and universal design.
