Menara Hap Seng 3

The interior design mimics the way greenery flourishes in natural environs

Recognised as the tallest green wall in Malaysia by the Malaysia Book of Records, this approximately 90-metre-high indoor vertical green wall within the internal atrium of Hap Seng 3 Tower brings in indirect natural daylight to illuminate the internal spaces of the offices while providing good visual comfort for all the occupants at every floor.

Setting this commercial building apart from the other more conventional ones within the city centre, its interior design concept derived its inspiration from nature—it mimics the way greenery flourishes in natural environs—creating a sense of serenity and a liveliness within the man-made walls.

The strong emphasis of verticality has been reinforced by the application of materials such as stones, aluminium claddings and glass panels, which expresses not only a sense of spaciousness but also a soaring effect in capturing a sense of height. Reflective materials were adopted alongside matte finishes in a proportionate albeit random arrangement throughout the space—from ceiling to the wall and floor—to imitate the effect of water puddles after the rain.
