Johor Halal Park

Johor Halal Park is a joint venture (JV) development between the Johor State Government via Johor Biotechnology & Biodiversity Corporation (J-Biotech) and United Malayan Land Berhad (UMLand). The objective of this project is to create a world-class integrated halal industrial park located within a 350-acre freehold industrial development site in Iskandar Malaysia.

The industrial park will be developed in three separate phases and consists of industrial, commercial, corporate headquarters, regional scientific laboratories (for commercial, halal foreign worker enclaves, integrated packaging and warehousing logistic facilities. They are part of the regional marketing and clearing house, youth park, one-stop centre (OSC) and recreation-related business facilities. These developments will eventually create the Johor Halal Park and become the first premium bio-halal industrial park in Malaysia. Upon completion of the project, there will be a total of 24 halal hubs in Malaysia, of which 13 are HALMAS-accredited and 11 are non-accredited.

Johor Halal Park aims to become a one-stop platform for the holistic implementation of halal ecosystem projects. There will be world-class infrastructure and facilities within the site, providing international industry linkages, benefits and financial incentives, food safety and halal infrastructure, IT platform, Islamic finance, research and development innovation, global halal regulators, halal industry association and communities, processing and distribution centres, as well as global export programme. It targets to nurture a global halal alliance where domain experts and global enforcers in each area of the halal ecosystem can work together to provide sustainable solutions that build the infrastructure for the stakeholders of the halal economy.

There will be a total of 89 factory units in Phase 1A and 36 shop office units in Phase 1B, while Phases 1C and 1D are reserved for the future development of the scientific halal laboratory and commercial land.

All building materials were made from local resources in order to support local industries. This project targets to boost the industrial development of the surrounding area, while generating job opportunities for locals to enhance the economy. It also aims to create an environmentally friendly industrial site.
