Aurora Place and SoVo

The design brief of Aurora Place and SoVo called for a mixed-use development to become an integral part of the Bukit Jalil City complex, comprising a commercial mall, shop-office units and smart office, versatile office (SoVo) suites. In addition, the project has to respond to the local context by reflecting the contemporary and streamlined architecture.

A HYBRID MALL
The design concept seeks to incorporate an open-air central atrium and outdoor elements into the built-in shop lots in order to realise the mall’s recreational and communal purposes. There are benches surrounding the water fountain at the central atrium and the pockets of spaces are connected by paved walkways. The visual connection from the ground to the open rooftop is enhanced by the use of a glass lift shaft. Overlooking the atrium area, a corridor bridge with solid timber railings and ceiling strips cuts across the void, connecting the opposite sides of the building.
