ARCHIDEX 2018

Into its 19th edition this year, the International Architecture, Interior Design & Building Exhibition (ARCHIDEX 2018) was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 4 to 7 July 2018. A total of 33,970 delegates and trade and public visitors from 62 countries attended this event that featured over 1,200 booths displayed across nine halls of the convention centre and the adjacent Mandarin Oriental Hotel.

Many industry professionals including architects, interior designers, property developers, engineers and quantity surveyors are regular visitors to ARCHIDEX where they source for solutions for various projects.

Jointly organised by leading Malaysian trade and lifestyle exhibitions organiser C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd and Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM, or the Malaysian Institute of Architects), the event is in conjunction with the annual Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival (KLAF).

At the ARCHIDEX official opening on 4 July, C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd President Dato’ Vincent Lim touched on how the emergence of the Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI), known as the world’s largest infrastructure (land and sea) development strategy, presents the potential for a host of thrilling prospects for various industries for over 65 countries along the route, including Malaysia.

PAM President Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail spoke on the significant role that ARCHIDEX and KLAF play in connecting established and emerging architects and designers towards the goal of better architecture for future communities.

This year’s ARCHIDEX features over 550 local and international exhibitors from Malaysia, Australia, Austria, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Five international pavilions will also showcase the very best of innovative design and technology from Austria, China, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.  — Construction+ Online
