The Government has been active in advocating reindustrialisation in recent years. Under its industrial building revitalisation measures, Kwai Chung has rapidly transformed from a conventional industrial district into a business district with development potential.
38 Wing Kei Road, an 18-storey industrial building in Kwai Chung developed by Sing Group, will be completed in the second quarter of this year. Equipped with extra high load-bearing freight lifts, the building has a total gross floor area of 191,307 square feet and a generous ceiling height of 4.7 metres. Touchless lift buttons and electric vehicle charging stations will be installed, while greenery will be incorporated on the exterior walls. Sina Group aims to attain BEAM Plus silver certification for the building.
Big Data Exchange (BDx), a growing data centre platform in the region, will be the largest tenant of 38 Wing Kei Road with its 16-megawatt hyperscale data centre. Bella Chhoa, Director of Asset Management of Sino Group, believed that the opening of the data centre will further advance Hong Kong’s innotech development. She added that the industrial building leasing market was vibrant in 2022 as the overall letting rate of the Group’s industrial buildings exceeded 90 per cent. —Construction+ Online
