Pinghu Hub

Pinghu Hub’s master plan 3D section

A mega-complex, Pinghu Hub spans approximately 1.08 million square metres in Shenzhen’s Pinghu District. The project seeks to become a model neighbourhood with a complete living environment by adopting transit-oriented development (TOD) 4.0 concept to deliver a high-density mixed-use development alongside a transportation hub. This aims to encourage community building through its diverse land uses and an accessible, well-connected public transport network.

TOD 4.0
The project looks to improve overall environmental quality by incorporating greenery throughout the development, filling every possible space to encourage outdoor leisure and recreational activities. As the Northern Gateway, the public infrastructure is set to become a business and cultural destination, and a generator for city expansion that will connect with the Pinghu Financial Base.

Pinghu Hub incorporates TOD 4.0 parameters to repurpose, renew and reconnect a divided urban area into a walkable neighbourhood and an integrated transit hub. The planning strategy concentrates on various facilities, such as offices, housing and services around public transport integrations. This approach promotes higher densities and activity concentration based on economic growth, land use and urban transport network. It is hoped that this would translate into a productive, vibrant community with high-quality public areas and shorter commuting distances that reduce carbon footprint while becoming more accessible and liveable.
