Owens Corning celebrated the fourth anniversary of its AP Science & Technology Center on 20 September 2016 with the opening of its Building Materials Lab in Shanghai. The AP Science & Technology Center in Shanghai is Owens Corning’s hub for innovation in glass technology applications to meet growing demand in China for high-performance solutions. Now, with the new Building Materials Lab officially operating, the AP Science & Technology Center is a full cross-division platform and the ideal environment to generate profitable and innovative products and applications for the China and Asian markets.
The new lab will deliver test support on thermal, mechanical, acoustic performance and system simulation of all kinds of insulation materials and composite products. Owens Corning expects these new test capabilities to grow its business through S&T project testing validation, competitive product audit, functional performance testing, and test method upgrade for new product differentiation. Moreover, they will enable the company’s engineering team to work closely with customers and designers in identifying new opportunities in both building materials and composites markets.
