Aiming at highlighting unique characters of Hong Kong architecture, urbanism and its creative industries in the international arena, the showcases are jointly organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Biennale Foundation (HKIABF) and The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) with Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as lead sponsor while the Transformative Hong Kong exhibition also includes Hong Kong Arts Development Council as co-organiser.

Ar Benny Chan, President of HKIA remarked that RAX will provide a bridge for local architects to create more dialogues and deepen collaborations with building and design professionals from different regions to explore topics such as cultural traditions and diversity.

The Transformative Hong Kong exhibition, which is taking place from 20 May 2023 to 26 November 2023 at Campo della Tana, will feature 11 sets of exhibits with interactive mixed-media representations and visual essays for three designated scales: Territorial Transformations, Architectural Transformations and Public Space Transformations.

Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur-Nanjing RAX will spotlight different scales of contrast: between old and new buildings; man-made and nature; private versus public space initiatives; among others. Comprising 16 exhibitors, their interpretations will be displayed from 22 July 2023 to 7 August 2023 at Rumah Tangsi in Kuala Lumpur; and from 21 October 2023 to 7 November 2023 in Nanjing (exact venue to be announced).

Both series will concurrently return to Hong Kong with a response version in the first quarter of 2024. —Construction+ Online
