Da Ya Li Roast Duck Restaurant

The Da Ya Li Roast Duck Restaurant, which integrates Chinese royal imperial food and Beijing marketplace dishes, has deeply absorbed the essence of Chinese food culture. With more than two decades of experience in the catering market, it has opened a new restaurant in Chengdu to promote the Beijing food culture and upgrade the brand image through its interior design.

DISCOVERING THE NEW VITALITY OF TRADITIONAL BRAND
It has always remained a challenge on how to maintain the endless vitality of an old brand. The restaurant is designed by IN•X, who has epitomised the catering space design. In this project, not only was the designer faced with the challenge of upgrading the brand image, but also that of integrating the brand image into the local culture.

The designer presents red colour palette as a symbol of solemn Chinese royal architecture, and it is also a typical representation of peppery taste in Sichuan cuisine. Hence, this colour is skilfully presented in this project with a visually striking image, which evokes taste memory and recalls national culture at the same time. The use of antique brick walls and floor tiles in cool smoky black can reduce the restlessness and anxiety brought by the warm red, achieving a delicate balance between colour and material temperature.

HIGHLIGHTING THE RATTAN TREE HOUSE
The ceiling is woven by red rattan in order to create a magnificent environment. The metal grille divides the functional space to meet commercial needs.
