On 9 December 2016, ATAL jointly held a roundtable luncheon with H3C and Innovix Distribution at the W hotel under the theme IT Convergence in Buildings – the Next Generation of Infrastructure Technologies. ATAL brought together representatives from different backgrounds to the event. Developers, consultants and members of the government discussed the current trends and the latest developments in IT convergence.
ATAL and H3C presented a thought-provoking session on the use of innovative BIoT (Building Internet of Things) technologies within buildings. Through IT convergence, all intelligent systems within buildings are seamlessly integrated, which allows data to be shared via a common IT platform. As a result, implementation of sophisticated strategies in system optimisation can be accomplished. The networking platform enables efficient communication among the building owner, facility manager and occupants. Having a common networking platform in place ensures system flexibility and scalability. During the event, ideas were illustrated through case studies of actual projects that were implemented in the hospitality and retail sectors with varying scales and complexity. Guests were equally involved in the discussion as they raised insightful questions.
