Hong Kong government has proposed to allow the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation to construct seawater intakes and outfalls in Tseung Kwan O to support the seawater district cooling system in its industrial estate.
The extent of the area of foreshore and seabed affected is described in a notice published in the Hong Kong Government Gazette on 8 November 2019.
The proposed works would include the construction of a pair of seawater intakes and a pair of seawater outfalls and reconstruction of two sections of an existing seawall within an area of approximately 2,120 square metres of foreshore and seabed. The proposed works are scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2020 for completion in 2021. ― Construction+ Online
