CIC Launches Course on National Affairs for Construction Young Persons

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has launched the Course on National Affairs for Construction Young Persons to nurture young construction leaders and enhance their understanding of the development of the Mainland China. Mainland experts, government officials and renowned industry leaders are invited to share their perspectives and experiences on topics of national and professional development in the course.

Bernadette Linn, Secretary for Development, said at the kick-off ceremony, “The development of the country has taken a quantum leap forward in the past years, among which The Belt and Road Initiative, the National 14th Five-Year Plan and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) are closely related to Hong Kong, as well as the development of the engineering sector. This course provides an excellent opportunity for everyone to have an in-depth understanding of the development of the country.”

Ir Thomas Ho, Chairman of the CIC, said in his closing remarks that the CIC will continue to assist young people in seizing opportunities for the future development of Hong Kong and nurture the younger generation in the construction industry.

Thirty students have been enrolled in the course, which covers topics on national governance; One Country, Two Systems; the development of the Greater Bay Area; and the opportunities of Hong Kong, aiming to help students strengthen their professional development and literacy, and to seize the opportunities brought by national development and contribute to national strategies for high-quality development. The CIC hopes that the course will foster the development of young builders through various professional trainings to help build a better living environment for Hong Kong. —Construction+ Online
