The Véo is the newly completed inaugural residential towers of Sime Darby Property’s KL East integrated development. Crafted by London-based architects, the 30-storey glass-clad twin towers, each with 175 residential units and topped with community sky gardens, offer contemporary city living next door to world-class nature.
INSPIRED BY NATURE
The Véo towers’ design concept, with the horizontal emphasis on its glass façade, is inspired by the world’s longest quartz ridge, the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge, which is the natural backdrop of the development.
The floor plate is designed for efficiency, with the accommodation zone located on the building perimeter, and the service zone close to the central core, to maximise views from the living, dining and bedrooms.
Each unit offers open plan living spaces with balconies that span its full width for residents to enjoy the scenery. The edges of the balconies are expressed to create shading and outdoor spaces, and the buildings’ orientations are designed to minimise direct exposure to the evening sun.
The eco-inspired sky gardens provide a gathering space for residents to socialise, while smart office facilities cater for a flexible working lifestyle surrounded by nature. Facilities include an infinity pool, a fully equipped gym and a multi-purpose hall, all with high-speed broadband wireless coverage. All buildings in KL East are also Green Building Index-rated for sustainability.
The design of the whole 62-hectare KL East leverages on the uniqueness of its hillside location while ensuring the environment is carefully preserved. Existing platform levels were used, with development concentrated only at the valleys or foothills, to minimise alteration to the existing landscape and prevent slope degradation while keeping close to nature.
KL East is the only development in the city with a facility dedicated to rainforest regeneration and the promotion of sustainable living, as more than 50 per cent of the development is green open spaces, including a 21.5-hectare KL East Eco Park, with look-out points and jungle trekking paths. There are plans in the pipeline to enhance the park with other facilities for various outdoor activities, without sacrificing the park’s original setting and landscape.
