UCSI University Graduation Exhibition

On 21 to 24 November 2018, UCSI University architecture final year students hosted their graduation exhibition, themed Avant-Garde 18 at Block G, UCSI University (South Wing).

The exhibition showcased a series of experimental design work from students exploring creative and revolutionary efforts to change the social stigma against ex-prisoners, which aligned with the theme ‘Avant-garde’, a French word that means people or works that are experimental, radical, or unorthodox with respect to art, culture, or society. The project’s objective is to invite the public to engage in debates and discussions behind the idea of rehabilitation and social re-integration.

Bold, playful and outstanding neon colours were used in the exhibition to highlight the student’s innovative thoughts in generating new ideas, and how to design to meet different clients’ requests.

The exhibition also invited professional architects, to name a few, Matthew Holloway from Grimshaw Architects, Eu Jin Lim, Wan Azhar Sulaiman, to share their experience in the field, and also to better prepare the final year students for their internship.
