Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), also known as Malaysian Institute of Architects, announced that the PAM Student Awards 2020 is now open for submission. Malaysian students majoring in architecture can submit their work starting 1 July 2020.
The PAM Student Awards is the highest accolade given by the institute to talented and outstanding Malaysian architectural graduates. This award event is open to all Malaysian PAM student members, studying local or overseas, who have just completed their programme in 2019.
“We need to be passionate about bringing out the best in architectural design. The future of development and innovation falls on the shoulders of the up-and-coming generation of architects who will also shape the world we live in,” said Lillian Tay, the PAM president.
She added that sustainability is an essential role in the way we build and we must not ignore it. Environmental factors dictate that we should use our resources and materials in a more responsible manner.
Two main prizes are awarded every year—the PAM Silver Medal for Part 2 architectural graduates and the PAM Bronze Medal for Part 1 graduates. A total of RM68,500 worth of prize money will be given out.
Submission can be done online via the PAM Student Awards website. The closing date for the submission of entries is on 3 August 2020. Winners of the PAM Student Awards 2020 will be announced later in 2021
