Mitrajaya Holdings Bhd has received a letter of award for the construction of a private hospital in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, for a sum of RM99.9 million.
According to a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Mitrajaya’s wholly owned subsidiary Pembinaan Mitrajaya Sdn Bhd, was awarded the contract by IMU Education Sdn Bhd, which is owned by International Medical University, Malaysia.
It includes the construction of a seven-storey private hospital with one level basement and a six-storey podium carpark.
The contract is due to commence on 15 October, for a duration of 27 months. Construction works are expected to be completed by Jan 15, 2021.
This is the second construction job win for the company in 2018, following a RM103 million housing project in Putrajaya earlier this year. This brings Mitrajaya’s order book to around RM1.4 billion, which translates into 1.4 times cover on FY2017 construction revenue.
Mitrajaya registered a net profit of RM29.51 million for the first half ended June 30, 2018, a 30 per cent dip from the corresponding period last year.
This was mainly due to lower work progress at the initial construction stage for newly secured projects and completion of major projects, such as the MACC headquarters, Residensi 22 at Mon’t Kiara, and Raffles American School in 2017. — Construction+ Online
