The development comprises 33 units of sea-front luxury villas facing the Straits of Melaka.
Sited on an isolated, narrow strip with 1.5 kilometres of sea frontage, each three-storey villa is placed along the north–south axis, in zig-zag positions, to capitalise on the view.
Rigorous explorations of cubist spatial typologies resulted in four types of villas, each with varying built-up areas and formal configurations, as well as contextual relationships with one another, creating a unique enclave of built forms. The metal roof detailing for the car porches and balconies add interest to the brick-and-mortar façade.
While domestic lifts are provided for each unit, the internal staircases have been reconfigured to be as light as possible, with the use of steel supports with solid timber treads. The ‘floating’ staircases create visual interest internally and open up connection to exterior views. Rainwater harvesting and solar-powered hot water are provided to minimise impact to the environment.
The seafront is protected by rock revetments, and a long jogging path links to a club house. A wide range of facilities, including BBQ and R&R areas, children’s playground and pools, help promote a strong sense of community. — Construction+ Online
